Catalan Government rules out consultation and proposes participation process with polls
The President of the Generalitat, Artur Mas, confirmed on Tuesday that the consultation of independence on 9 November as planned will not be done and that instead, will attempt to replacing it with a participatory process in which there will be polls.
Mas explained in the Palau de la Generalitat, that the Government is preparing the logistics for the voting covered on items not suspended from the Catalan law on consultation and other laws that encourage participation.
For it they will mobilize more than 20,000 volunteers and will have the active collaboration of the 920 municipalities that supported the consultation process.
Mas added that there will be no previous records and citizens who want to vote on November 9 must register that day by going to the polling place and presenting their identity.
The final results will be reported on November 10, a day after the consultation.
