Catalan government will seek suspension lift against independence query
The President of the Catalan Government, Artur Mas, said this Wednesday that “right now” is not in the “stage” of “civil disobedience”, but on that of asking the Constitutional Court to lift the suspension of the query.
At a meeting in the Catalan Parliament, Mas stressed that the aim of his government is that the ultimate interpreter of the Spanish Constitution lift the interim suspension on the sovereigntist query before November 9 in order to do it.
The Catalan government decided yesterday to suspend the institutional campaign for consultation after the Constitutional Court admitted admissible on appeal by the Government of Spain against this initiative, as a precautionary measure suspending the query.
After the suspension, thousands of Catalans protest yesterday in several municipalities of Catalonia outraged by the suspension of the independence query.
Omnium and Assembly Catalan, organizers independence demonstrations in recent years, called to fill the squares of the municipalities in all the towns of the region claiming disobey to judicial suspension.
