Cecilia Niemes takes Local Fashion Designers to Foreign Catwalks

Miami is widely considered the axis between Europe and the Americas, with South Beach as its glamorous epicenter.

The city is therefore the natural selection to host the country’s largest International and Hispanic fashion event 2012, the 14th annual Miami Beach International Fashion Week.

Cecilia Niemes, national and international event producer, is the Ecuadorian entrepreneurial image of Miami Beach Fashion Week 2012 that was held from 21 to 24 March at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

“Since 2001 I attend the Miami Fashion Week and since 2009 we have an exchange between Ecuador Fashion Week and Miami Fashion Week to bring designers who potentially have the conditions to internationalize their careers.”

As vice president of the Association of Latin American Fashion Weeks, Niemes has been highlighted by potentiating the race of Ecuadorian designers who wish to publicize their work nationally and internationally.

“We trade with 14 fashion weeks: Buenos Aires High Fashion, Fashion Week Cartagena, Dominican Fashion, Fashion Days in Panama, Barcelona Fasion Week, etc. In our country: Ecuador Fashion Week, Fashion Salinas, among others. “
