Celac members will discuss with China the creation of a Permanent Forum
Today, representatives of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC for its Spanish acronym) will participate in a meeting with the Chinese President Xi Jiping, to discuss the creation of the Permanent Forum China-CELAC.
The Heads of State of Cuba, Raul Castro, and Costa Rica Luis Solis, as well as the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, along with the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, make up the quartet of CELAC.
They will be in Brasilia, where Unasur member countries with their respective Presidents also arrived yesterday to attend the summit with the Brics forum leaders, which is integrated by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The meeting was held at the Itamaraty Palace, seat of the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil.
Unasur is formed by Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela.
