CES will analyze charges regulation of private universities
The proposal of the Higher Education Council (CES for its spanish acronym), which seeks to regulate the collection of university fees, tuition and other items, will be analyzed and reviewed along with the Ecuadorian Corporation for Private Universities (CEUPA).
The standard proposes that private institutions of higher education may increase tariffs annually (value that is charged to the student by the career cost according to the number of subjects and courses), fees and administrative costs related to the subjects registration.
Such value cannot exceed the 10% of the total cost of the career and tariffs, tuition and fees for regular students may be annually increased, according to the annual inflation rate published by the INEC.
For the CEUPA President Alejandro Rivadeneira it is exaggerated the accusation that the tuition was increased by a 150% and the prices comparation.
