Charges will be applied on airfares to Ecuador

The Ministry of Tourism ordered the collection of new contributions for passengers flying out of the country, as well as those who purchase an airline ticket bound for Ecuador.

The agreement 20140107 sets at USD 20 the contribution known as Eco Delta, a cost that applies to the issuance of each airline ticket to travel from Ecuador to foreign countries. The the Eco Delta contribution was of USD 5 before.

The agreement adds that if the flights are charters, the rate will be of USD 30 per passenger.

In addition, a new tax called Touristic Power, which has a cost of USD 10, will be added for the issuance of each airline ticket to travel to the country from abroad.

The process of collection of both contributions shall be implemented by Internet in the computer system of the Ministry of Tourism.
