Chile left out of World Cup to the champion Spain

Spain failed to defeat Chile and was defeated 2-0 in the second round of Group B of the World Cup Brazil 2014.

The Spaniards were obliged to win the South American team to stick with chances of moving to the second phase of the World Cup, after losing against Netherlands 5-1.

Eduardo Vargas in the 20th minute and Charles Aránguiz at 43′ gave the victory to the team coached by Jorge Sampaoli.

The Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo had a flawless game with big saves which prevented the Spanish team to score in the opponent’s goal.

With this result, Spain, reigning champion of the event is virtually eliminated, while Chile and the Netherlands classify to second round.
