Claro and Movistar workers met with Omar Simon
Worker Representatives of Claro and Movistar met on Thursday with the Private Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic Omar Simon. The purpose of this meeting was to express their concerns about the possible reform that would reduce the profits of mobile phone companies from 15% to 3%.
At the meeting both operators presented their legal, social and economic arguments on their vision about reforming the Telecommunications Law. They reiterated their desire to meet with President Rafael Correa.
The Secretariat of the Presidency has not yet pronounced about this meeting and noted that it would be reserved information.
President Rafael Correa said in the official newspaper The Citizen, that “we must differentiate Movistar and Claro. Movistar is more responsible, that´s why they are the most demanding”.
