Russian humanitarian convoy is reviewed by Ukrainian authorities
Russian humanitarian cargo destined for the people of eastern Ukraine, affected by the armed conflict between the forces of Kiev and pro-Russian separatists, is under review by the Border Guard and the Ukrainian Customs Service.
The Ukrainian military command reported that nearly 60 Ukrainian officials, representatives of the OSCE and the International Committee of the Red Cross are in Donetsk, and “began the customs inspection and certification of the load.”
“The burden will go to Lugansk”, where there is not electricity and water for two weeks and is abandoned by the half of its nearly half a million inhabitants.
Without providing details, Kiev reported that the convoy would cross the border at the nearest point to Lugansk to streamline the distribution of aid to the population of that town, controlled by pro-Russian but besieged by Ukrainian forces.
