CNE denied challenges from three canceled political organizations

The plenary session of the National Electoral Council (CNE) ratified the cancellation of three political organizations . This Monday, August 10, 2020, two objections entered by the representatives of the Health and Labor movements were denied ; and META, with a scope of action in Guayas.

The challenge of the Partido Adelante Ecuatoriano Adelante , of the banana businessman, Álvaro Noboa, was also denied .

On July 30 and August 4, the CNE , with the casting vote of the president, Diana Atamaint , canceled those organizations, for not reaching the minimum percentage of votes in two consecutive multi-person elections, as established in Article 327 of the Code of Democracy .

“Once the due process of discharge and the right to defense had been fulfilled, it was resolved to deny the requests for challenge from the Adelante Ecuatoriano Adelante party; Emerging Movement for Transparency and Action (META) and the Health and Work Movement, ”the CNE said in a statement.
