CNE gives more time for registration of candidates

Paul Salazar
To enable the candidates to register for the local elections of February 2014, the National Electoral Council (CNE) extended the hours of 08:30 and 00:00 in all provincial offices, which runs until next Wednesday, and on Thursday the enrollment period ends at 18:00.
This extension of time would facilitate the registration, as the electoral body vice president, Paul Salazar, stated that until last Monday morning the number of entries was 600. Of these, 12 were for prefectures, 65 for mayor, 125 for urban councils, 91 rural councils, 42 district councilors and 265 for parishes.
Registration can be done both physically as well as electronically.
Salazar reported that last November 14, 54 095 credentials were presented to members of the Armed Forces so they can vote, and 41 395 for the National Police personnel.
