Comptroller General criticizes amendments that would affect the powers of the comptrollership
Posted On 04 Jul 2014
Carlos Polit, Comptroller General, gave statements about the proposed amendments submitted by Alianza PAIS to the Constitutional Court (CC) for two reforms that affect the powers of the Comptrollership. “The control action to public resources is linked to the achievement of the objectives of the state. Separating them would absolutely weaken the fiscal control”, he said.
Pólit added that he will deliver documentation to demonstrate the affectation to the control that the reform will generate. “Is a topic we have to present and prove to the CC (…), the right to control, as it is enshrined in the Constitution (…), is indispensable for us, but it is the competent bodies that determine it”, he said.
