Comptroller investigates contracts of the Initiative Yasuni-ITT

Biodiversity board audits Yasuni-ITT Initiative
Since January, the Comptroller General audits the contracts of the Yasuni-ITT Initiative campaign, which totals $ 7.3 million and were signed by the former head of negotiations, Ivonne Baki.
The purpose of the initiative was to achieve economic cooperation of the international community in exchange for keeping the oil underground in Yasuni National Park.
According to spokesmen of the entity, the intervention of the Comptroller is scheduled in its annual audit plan, which provides for special consideration to the administrative and financial operations of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, the same to which was attached the Yasuni-ITT Initiative, for the period from January 1, 2011 and February 28, 2013.
Assemblyman Paco Fierro (PSP) requested last July, that the Comptroller reviews Baki expenses. According to him, the former head negotiator said they had raised $ 300 million, then said they were only $ 13 million of which $ 7 million was spent to spread the initiative.
