“Constructora Enlace 780” concludes work on a new bridge over the Daule River
Ecuadornews:
The Enlace 780 consortium is currently completing the technical delivery of the new bridge over the Daule river, which connects Guayaquil with La Puntilla (Samborondón) and which was proposed to help decongest the National Unity bridge and the Pedro Menéndez Gilbert avenue, on the route to the center of the Main Port.
Delegates from the municipalities of Guayaquil and Samborondón plan to receive the work and execute a final inspection, prior to the inauguration of the viaduct, on May 3 next.
The construction of the bridge began in April 2016, at a cost of $ 82 million, financed by the two councils.
The project was executed on four fronts, where one of them corresponded to the main board, or rather to the bridge itself, of 780 meters in length; the others corresponded to branches and other accesses.
It was so that on October 31 the construction of the bridge ended, including the mayors Jaime Nebot of Guayaquil; and José Yúnez, from Samborondón, completed a car crossing.
The works then focused on the branches. Workers yesterday finalized details in the accesses to the highway Narcisa de Jesus and to the av. José María Egas, on the Guayaquil side, as in the av. Samborondón, in the neighboring canton.
Crews finished and were preparing to remove waste material resulting from recent work.
In the area of La Puntilla, specifically at kilometer 3.5 of Samborondón Avenue, the lighting was evident, as well as the installation of reflective tacks. There were dividing walls on the access road to the bridge, which were placed provisionally, according to César Ramírez, superintendent of the work.
He said that an overpass was planned and that its construction would take six months, after which the jersey walls would be removed. At the moment, there are road ears traced at ground level.
The authorities have not announced if the bridge will be open to traffic before its inauguration.
Technical details
The total length of the new bridge to La Puntilla includes the 410 meters of the viaduct built on the Guayaquil side, plus the 780 meters of the bridge, plus the 180 of the Samborondón branch; in total, 1,370 meters.
It is planned that 60,000 cars a day will circulate on the bridge. The Cabildo de Samborondón plans to deliver a card to residents of La Puntilla, with the payment of property taxes, to be presented at the toll booths. The private driver can pay the fee in cash. (I)
