Correa calls for collaboration to the Sarayaku before new incursion
President Rafael Correa said this Friday that the National Police will enter back into the Sarayaku community to imprison Cléver Jimenez, Fernando Villavicencio and Carlos Figueroa, who are sentenced by Justice.
Correa warned that `the government will act with the full force of the law and it will do whatever has to be done.´
For the President, the problem “is extremely serious, now we have intended to make separate republics, on behalf of ancient republics.´ So `please deliver it to the fugitives and if they prevent the police action with these armed groups we will declare a state of emergency,´ he added.
In addition, he stated that the position of the Sarayaku community of protecting the three fugitives is extremely dangerous and an unprecedented abuse with their victimization for having been abused in previous governments.
Likewise, he also questioned to those who contradict the existence of paramilitary groups in the Amazon community. `Who are they trying to cheat,´ Correa concluded.
