The artisanal product offer goes up for mother’s day
For mother’s day, the activity of the artisan workshops is dynamized. According to consulted artisans, they bend the hours of work and more workers are hired in this season.
Scheny Bosisio, owner of Klorofila, a shop dedicated to creating flower arrangements in Guayaquil, says that mother’s day is the busiest trade date, even more than Christmas.
Also the fairs are the main showcase of artisans, sector moving in may around USD 76 million, according to data from the National Board of Defense of the craftsman. Some 20 craftsmen exposed in the Plaza of the Americas, North of Quito, and products for the mother’s day Saturday from this week. Between the offer are natural soaps, crafts fine wood, of imitation jewellery, garments woven by hand, among other products.
Marcela Rhor, owner of thimbles and crafts workshop, Tikay, says that box collection handmade thimbles and boxes of tea this time are the most popular. Both are made by hand. The artisan says that it hires an additional worker to meet the demand for these dates.
