Correa will travel to Brazil for the inauguration of the World Cup
President Rafael Correa is scheduled to travel to Brazil tomorrow to attend the opening ceremony of the World Cup in the Stadium Arena Corinthians, in Sao Paulo.
Correa will travel accompanied by Sports Minister Jose Francisco Cevallos, thanks to the invitation of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.
Correa’s travel will be a round trip, because on Friday at 15:00 is contemplated the broadcasting of the Weekly Address, from the Bicentennial Park in Quito.
The foreign press highlights the confirmed presence of other Latin American leaders, including José Mujica of Uruguay; Evo Morales of Bolivia; Horacio Cartes, of Paraguay; Juan Orlando Hernandez of Honduras; and Michelle Bachelet of Chile.
Besides the presence of the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Ban Ki-moon, and officials of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is expected.
