The triumph of the football team of Costa Rica 1-0 over Italy, which gave them the pass to the second round of the World Cup for the second time in its history, unleashed the euphoria of President Luis Guillermo Solís, and thousands of fans who took to the streets of the capital to celebrate.

The president of Costa Rica went to the streets to run and celebrate, and registered moments of happiness on his Twitter account (@ luisguillermosr) in several photos.

“The celebration is big, the streets are blue and red tide,” wrote the president on the social network. “Ticos and ticas, an entire country.Yes we could! ” He added.

Thousands of Costa Ricans were absent to their jobs and schools to watch the game on giant screens placed in Plaza de la Democracia in the capital center.
