Customs office simplifies formulary for tourists to enter by land borders
The National Customs Service of Ecuador (Senae for its Spanish acronym) simplified the form of tourists to enter the country through land borders. Now, a vehicle with visitors with plates of Colombia and Peru, which took 20.5 minutes to complete the process, now it does it in 1.5 minutes.
Fields currently requested are identification number, name, country of origin, plates, expiration date and email.
The Commission states on its website that all travelers entering by land borders goods subject to taxes, whose value is less than or equal to $ 2,000, must submit the Simplified Customs Declaration (DAS for its Spanish acronym) and attach the documents requested by customs. If the value of the products is higher than indicated, it will be considered as a common import that shall submit the Customs Import Declaration (DAI for its Spanish acronym).
