Cyber Monday, with 250,000 purchase intentions
Cyber Monday, the e-commerce party that for the first year extended its offers for three consecutive days, registered more than 250,000 visits or purchase intentions on its official site (www.cybermonday.ec).
Juan Carlos Díaz-Granados, director of the Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil (CCG), says that this event is held in a traditional way (the first Monday, after every Black Friday) since 2012.
However, he argues, that due to the economic recession of the country and the lack of trade incentives, certain changes have had to be applied to the programming: one of them is that this date will begin to be replicated in September and December.
But the good reception of last Monday motivated the brands, 80 participants, extended for two more days, the different offers on each of its platforms.
According to Díaz-Granados, this year “we had an important participation by the entrepreneurs, who became 75% of the CyberMonday brands”.
In the country, it is an event that significantly increases the electronic sales of each of the brands.
According to the Ecuadorian Chamber of Electronic Commerce, Cyber Monday represents at least 8% of the annual sales of the e-commerce market, “which is equivalent to projection for the planned for this year that is $ 1.3 billion,” he said.
