Just one week after being inaugurated, on November 30, 2023, President Daniel Noboa presented the officers that make up the new leadership of the Armed Forces (FF. AA.), at the Carondelet Palace.
At the event, Giancarlo Loffredo, Minister of Defense, was in charge of presenting the new members of the High Command.
The Secretary of State pointed out that every society needs to reinvent itself, but for these good decisions are needed. In this case the intention is to recover peace, against a single enemy, which is crime.
“Life does matter and the desire to progress and work” is the message that the Noboa Government tries to convey within the framework of its security plan, in which they seek to ensure that police, military and citizens work hand in hand.
Loffredo added that the FF. AA. They have a new task, which is to become a support in caring for citizens and ensuring that there is a country at peace . The official said that for the replacement of the dome, the best profiles for the current time have been chosen.
“It is time to show the world that the Ecuadorian Armed Forces do not know fear.”

Vela: “We must wage war”
After the swearing-in by President Noboa, Jaime Vela, new head of the Joint Command of the FF. AA., said that it is evident that Ecuador does not live in a time of peace and suffers violence never seen before.
But, the officer added, the resilience of Ecuadorians is also evident, who despite the fact that their security is not adequate, continue to go out to work every day to collaborate with the development of the country.

Noboa: I promise to give you my full support
For his part, President Daniel Noboa said that today, like every morning, he reviewed data on the credibility of State institutions and said that in all the studies there is a constant, “always in the last 25 years, the institution with the greatest credibility are the Armed Forces.“
He said at least two-thirds of the population trusts the military and he includes himself in two-thirds.
For this reason, he asked the new officers of the Dome to help get the country out of the security crisis it is experiencing, “I am sure that together we will be able to win this war and give peace again to the Ecuadorian people, to the family and the young people”.
He explained that the idea is that citizens feel that the borders, ports, neighborhoods and every space in the country is safe for the development of people’s family and work activities.
” Today I commit to giving you my full support every day that I am at the head of this Government and to work every day to return peace and glory to the Ecuadorian Government,” said Noboa at the end of his speech.
