The US diplomat pledged to continue supporting Ecuador on security issues. He replaces Michael Fitzpatrick.

The new ambassador of the United States, Arthur Brown, presented his credentials to President Daniel Noboa on June 26.
The meeting took place in the Yellow Room of the Carondelet Palace. Brown replaces Michael Fitzpatrick since June 18, when he assumed the diplomatic delegation.
“We will continue working together. “The United States remains fully committed to supporting Ecuador in its security challenges and working together to advance justice, inclusion and prosperity for our two countries and the region,” Brown said.
“As United States Ambassador to Ecuador, I will continue to build on the foundation of our vibrant collaboration”

On June 19, Arthur Brown presented copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabriela Sommerfeld, the United States Embassy reported.
Brown is a career member of the Foreign Service with the rank of Minister Counselor. From 2021 to 2022 he was Minister Counselor at the United States Embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe.
He has dedicated much of his more than 30-year career to service in Africa, Southwest Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean regions.
