Debate on Labour Code was postponed until 2015

So said the chairman of the Committee on the Rights of Workers in the Assembly and Assemblywoman of Alianza PAIS (AP), Betty Carrillo. “There is no intentionality to approve it (the Code) this year,” she added.
Although the AP block included the Organic Code of Labour Relations among the laws of “priority” approval, after a meeting with President Rafael Correa on last April 14, Carrillo said that between September and December this year only the report for the first debate of the project might be ready.
The Commission intends to conduct tours on some provinces to collect criteria. Tomorrow they will meet in Milagro (Guayas), as part of a Close Encounter of Public and Private Unions.
