Delgado’s Defense insists on clarifying the origin of fee’s

The purpose of the appeal is that the seized company Rocafuerte Insurance, gives information on alleged charges of $ 5 million policy.

Defense attorney Juan Carlos Carmigniani, is following the case in defense of Delgado for the alleged crime of intentional use of false documents. The attorney says that no fees are charged under this policy, which was renewed in September for Delgado, during his term as president of the AGD-CFN Trust.

Additionally, the policy also cover the costs of defending Francisco Endara, Delgado’s brother-in-law, who was coordinator of the Technical Secretariat of the Management Unit of Public Law, and three officials of the Trust.

On two occasions the defense asked (in office and with the help of a notary) to the insurance company, the alleged payments certificates. But according Carmigniani, these have been denied.

The introduction of habeas data along with the transcript of the prosecutor’s statements, Galo Chiriboga in Ecuavisa, presented last May 14: “I have been informed that the defense is sponsored by insurance that protects the AGD”, “in the Attorney dissatisfaction exists that a criminal case be paid by an insurance company.”

Finally yesterday a Special Action Protection Court was filed with the decision denying the clarification of the remand order that weighs against Pedro Delgado.
