Demands against Communications Law remain valid

Enrique Herreria and Mauricio Alarcon
The Constitutional Court (CC) has not ruled on the constitutional claim that involves several articles of the current communications law. More than a month has passed since the demand was made, by over 60 people between former assemblyment, attorneys and journalists in the country.
Lawyers Enrique Herreria and Mauricio Alarcon, presented last September 3 a document arguing that the Act did not comply with Article 137 of the Constitution on the procedure for issuing a standard, this would mean that the project is subject to two debates in the National Assembly.
The plaintiffs asked the Court to issue an injunction to suspend the application until its content is solved according to the order of the demand. But not yet received a response.
So far, the Court spokesmen reported that the application is in the admissibility stage.
