Digital Insertion was awarded by the ITU

In the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS), the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) awarded the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society of Ecuador for its digital inclusion program to remote populations, called “Mobile Classrooms”.
The Summit, which will take place until May 17 in Geneva, also honored 14 other countries for implementing programs for the development and promotion of Information Technology and Communication (ICT).
The program “Mobile Classrooms” consists in trucks equipped with the most modern technology (touch screens, special keyboards for people with special abilities,) who travels across the country looking for as many people as possible in order to access to ICTs.
