Discussion of the amendments to the Constitution will start this month at the Commission
The Occasional Commission of the National Assembly, which processes the 16 changes to the Constitution, will begin their discussion on January 19, in Montecristi, Manabí.
The report for the second debate will be developed at the plenary of legislature from November to December. “These will be almost 13 months to inform to the citizens about the amendments. This makes the construction of laws in the Assembly to be participative,” added the official legislator, Lidice Larrea, alternate of the President of the Commission, Juan Carlos Cassinelli.
But the opposition assemblymen believe that the discussion of the amendments will be for nothing. First, because there will not be any debate: anti-regime organizations will not participate, only governmental or allies will do it. Second, because the opinions will not be collected and the way for approval of the amendments will not change in any way.
