DPNG works to salvage ship after running aground

Around 45 tanks with lubricating oil were evacuated this monday from the vessel Galapaface I, stranded since may 9 in front of the San Cristobal island in Galápagos, said the Galápagos National Park Directorate (DPNG for its spanish acronym).
The Emergency Operations Committee explained that the boat is stabilized and surrounded by oil cointainment booms. In addition, it is expected to import supplies from the United States, Chile and the Netherlands for the rescue.
