Monday, the Foreign Ministry of Ecuador delivered the first Ecuadorian IDs to foreigners on an international protection status (refuges).
According to an official communiqué, this is a joint effort between the Foreign Ministry, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Ombudsman’s Office and the Registry Office.
“This for Ecuador is an achievement because, in this way, we facilitate the inclusion of refugees in the national public system. This is a fact that fills us with pride,” said Deputy Minister of Human Mobility José Luis Jácome. (I)
