Posted On 14 Nov 2017

Ecuadornews:

Yesterday, Ecuador began to add medals very early in the third day of the Bolivarian Games Santa Marta 2017. Until 20:00 on Monday, the national delegation added 19 medals and remained in the fifth place in the medal table.

The ‘harvest’ started at the popular Taganga beach. There, the Ecuadorians Bryan and Gabriel Solá won the bronze medal in rowing (2x modality).

But the highest production of medals occurred at the Inem Simón Bolívar coliseum, where the national wrestlers showed a good competitive level.

Jacqueline Mocollana was awarded the silver medal in the 48 kilograms division, while Leonela Ayoví won the bronze in the 58 kilograms division.

But there was more. Karla Campos won the silver medal in the 69 kilograms division, Luisa Valverde took the bronze in the 53 kilograms division and Mayra Antes, sister of the Olympic wrestler Lisette Antes, won bronze in the 63 kilograms division.

Mario José Jarrín won the bronze in mountain biking (Down Hill mode). While Ernesto Dávila and David Costales won a bronze medal in squash. And finally, Yautung Cueva won the bronze medal in Olympic shooting (25 meters).

In the afternoon, judo fighters added more medals to Ecuador. Estefanía García obtained the silver medal in the 63 kilograms after a controversial decision of the judges. While Diana Villavicencio (57 kg), Erick Ayabaca (-73 kg), and Edison Vivero (-81 kg), were awarded bronze medals. (I)
