Ecuador Grants Two Years Refuge to Barankov

Today Belarusian citizen Aliaksander Barankov was granted two years refuge by the Directorate of Refuge Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador.

His provisional status expired mid next month. He is accused of alleged fraud in his country, but he has said he is politically persecuted. Barankov was sought for extradition by the government of his country, but Ecuador granted him asylum. (FL)
