Ecuador had a $ 3,140 billion deficit in its trade balance

Ecuador recorded a deficit in its trade balance of 3,140 million dollars in 2015, when registering exports valued at 18,366 million and an import volume of 21,506 million, according to the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters (Fedexpor). Non-oil exports amounted 11,668 million (6.1% less than in 2014) against imports of 17,340 million, resulting in a deficit of 5,672 million in the non-oil trade balance.
According to a Fedexpor report, exports that grew the most in 2015 were sent to the Middle East (52%), Asia (24%) and China (24%), whereas those that were destined for Venezuela declined by 42% as well as those destined to Russia (10%), the Andean Community (15%), the United States (12%) and the European Union (6%).
