Ecuador has imported 378,950 doses of the Pfizer vaccine against covid-19

A new batch with 65,520 doses of vaccines from the Pfizer laboratory against covid-19 arrived in the country on the afternoon of this Wednesday, March 24, 2021. This is the seventh shipment that arrives in the country to carry out the Vaccination Plan carried out by the National Government .

The biological was sent from the Pfizer production factory in Belgium to the Quito Airport. The shipment will be distributed throughout the country to continue with Phase 1 of Vaccination. In total, 378,950 doses have arrived in Ecuador.

Until March 21, the first dose has been given to 140,765 people, while 38,205 have already received the second and are immune to the coronavirus. The Ministry of Health is in the process of vaccinating older adults and personnel from strategic sectors.

According to the State portfolio, since March 23, the elderly who are over 80 years old and people with disabilities who are over 65 are inoculated. As the doses arrive, the plan will continue with the rest of the citizens, according to the established priorities.
