It was 48 years ago in Barranquilla, for qualifying to reach the World Cup in England in 1966 with a 1-0 win over the Colombian team.
In the same city the Tri will play on Friday against Colombia, as it was in the match played on July 21, 1965, lined with Pablo Ansaldo, Vicente Lecaro, Alfonso Quijano, Luciano Macias, Miguel Bustamante, Climaco Canarte, Romulo Gomez, Jorge Bolanos, Enrique Raymondi, Washington Munoz and Tito Larrea, who remember his main rival was the intense heat of the Colombian Caribbean city.
We had more fans in the clubhouse and big blocks of ice to cool ourselves, reminds Chanfle Munoz, author of goal of the game, which gave Ecuador the only victory as a visitor of the Tri in Colombian soil.
