Ecuador receives response from Panama regarding the Doria ship
Fernando Nunez Fábrega, Minister of external relations of Panama, convened a press conference, once the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, spoke in harsh terms about the claim made by the Government of Ricardo Martinelli.
Yesterday, Panama presented all the documents supporting that the boat Doria, retained in Ecuador since last October with a shipment of drugs, is registered in that country.
Nunez said that the documentation was sent more than one month ago to the Ecuadorian authorities with the request of return of the vessel for due process in Panama, since it corresponds to that country to determine the criminal responsibility of drug trafficking.
The Ecuadorian authorities said that Panama has requested the ship, the crew and the drugs.
“That is absolutely false, it has been reported over and over that Panama will accept the report of the laboratory of the Public Ministry of Ecuador to continue the process,” said the Chancellor to the Panamanian media.
