Ecuador seeks to install an aluminum processing plant

The Coordinator Minister of Strategic Sectors Rafael Poveda, signed on Wednesday October 29 an understandingmemorandum for strategic cooperation with China’s Chinalco corporation.

According to a press release from the Ministry, this company is the world’s alumina largest producer, the third largest provider of primary aluminum and the fifth largest aluminum producer.

The document signed with Chinalco commits the parties to cooperate together to improve the business model and the business prospects of the aluminum project.

Poveda said that along with the company, they seek to establish in the fututre a processing plant of aluminum in Ecuador.
