The largest producers of artisan cheeses from Ecuador will meet in Cayambe, north of Pichincha, to exhibit their best creations.
An immense variety of mature, fresh and semi-ripe cheeses, with different flavors, such as spicy made with cow’s and goat’s milk, can be tasted at the VIII National Cheese Fair, which will take place from August 10 to 12.
In 70 pavilions more than 25 producers of cheese, dairy products and beverages will offer to Ecuadorian and foreign tourists the varied gastronomy typical of nine provinces of Ecuador, the best cheese of the country will be chosen and also a course of artisanal cheesemaking will be presented.
With an investment of 60,000 dollars, this event will take place at the El Molino fairground, in Cayambe canton.
Luis Chavez, organizer of the fair, said that the visit of more than 20,000 people is expected. (I)
