Ecuador will not be able to prosecute Odebrecht employees

Ecuadornews:

Ecuador will not be able to prosecute Odebrecht and its former directors, employees, and adherents. This is one of the commitments the Office of the Attorney General agreed to meet, after receiving the documents of the case on June 1st.
As the Ecuadorian Prosecutor’s Office did not reach an agreement with Odebrecht until that date, after the six months term given by the Brazilian authorities, secrecy was lifted, but the requirement was maintained.
This means that no civil and/or criminal prosecution can be brought against the construction company, nor any of the 78 former directors who signed collaboration agreements with the Public Prosecutor of Brazil (I).
