Ecuadorian film “Medardo” is presented in New York

The biopic of Guayaquil poet Medardo Angel Silva will have its Avant-premiere in New York on Wednesday, 13 May. It will be attended by Latin actors settled down in the US, who intervened in the production, like Venezuelan actress Lupita Ferrer.

Julio Ortega plays the role of Medardo and is also the scriptwriter of the film, who tells that the idea came five years ago when he wrote a play about the writer, which was in the Off Broadway billboard of New York in 2012.

The film, directed by Nitsy Grau, was produced last year in Las Peñas neighborhood, the Guayaquil Historical Park, The Seminary Park, the Cathedral, the General Cemetery of Guayaquil, the University Mansion, the original offices of Daily El Telegrafo and the Anconcito cemetery.

“Medardo” premieres on June 5 in Ecuadorian cinemas.
