Ecuadorian mango exports increased by 184%
Until May 2015 mango sales abroad increased compared to last year, when these increased by 185%.
During a meeting with mango producers, held Wednesday in Guayaquil, it was noted that 82% of exports are directed to the United States.
Bernardo Malo, president of the Mango Foundation of Ecuador, said that this is news that cheers the sector but it still concerns because the production will fall about 30% due to the rains. The country sells $ 35 million annually, according to the foundation.
Leonardo Ortega, director of the Mango Chamber of the US, stated that during the talks that the agriculture authorities will allow to enter a larger fruit to the American country, in addition to count on tariff preferences.
