“Despacito”, the most watched video in the history of YouTube, is the musical basis for YouTube Rewind 2017, the audiovisual collection made by the American company about the most important events of the year.
The Shape of 2017 is the name of the work, in reference to Shape of You, by Ed Sheeran, one of the most heard songs of the year; In addition, trends such as the Fidget Spinner or Shooting Stars are included. Luis Fonsi, Lele Pons, Ozuna, Yuya, among others, are the Latin Americans that appear in the piece, 7 minutes and 14 seconds long.
Not everything is joy in this year’s Rewind, as it also reminds victims of the earthquake in Mexico and the various attacks that occurred during 2017; likewise, a unity message is issued.
