“Mr. Mayor, to be respected you have to be respectful. Not invoking or calling for the disrespect of the law, or offloading your own responsability on others, in a repetitive behavior that becomes suspicious that way of proceeding… ,” says the statement issued by the Ecuadorinmediato website in response to the announcement of the Mayor of Quito, Mauricio Rodas, who said he will not pay the fine imposed by the Superintendency of Communication (SuperCom).

Rodas said this Monday that the sanction was illegal and therefore he will not pay the fine. The Supercom has not issued an official response to Rodas after these statements.

Carlos Ochoa, Superintendent of Communication, said in his Twitter account: “A loose Question … how anyone could invoke the Constitution while……. flagrantly violating it at the same time???.”
