El Universo Case: Tweets inside the court

President Rafael Correa arrived today at 9:40 to the hearing of El Universo Case. Approximately 50 people from Alianza País also attended, including the communications secretary Fernando Alvarado and minister Doris Soliz.
Only attorney Joffre Campaña, from the newspaper’s defense, was present at the audience and carried with two suitcases full of the 8000 pages full of information regarding El Universo Case. “It is clear that the defense of El Universo has no arguments and is trying to stop the hearing, their lawyers are not here, nor the defendants,” wrote Fernando Alvarado on Twitter.
Rafael Correa:
“We are fighting for the hearing to be held, and no longer have anxiety throughout the country with this case. They want to delay everything. They are desperate,” the president said on Twitter about the recusal that El Universo asked the associate judges.
“Rejected the Legalese! The hearing continues!” Tweeted Correa after the request was rejected.
“Whatever the outcome of this trial, something already changed forever in this country: we lost the fear of abuses of the press!”
