Elias Jaua appointed as Chancellor of Venezuela by Hugo Chavez

Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela, appointed Elias Jaua as the new Venezuelan Foreign Minister. The Vice President Nicolas Maduro made the announcement, during a brief ceremony at the National Assembly of his country.
From December 11, 2012 the president has not been seen or heard since he was hospitalized in Cuba. However, his colleagues said that he’s aware, recovering and aware of what is happening in their country.
Elias Jaua was the former vice president of Chavez until last October, when he appointed Maduro as his replacement and later on sent him to face the opposition leader Henrique Capriles in regional elections, but he was defeated.
According to Maduro, Chavez requested information on the current situation of Venezuela from his ministers and their government partners.
