Emelec defeats Bolivar in a Libertadores cup match
Last night Emelec won their first three points of the Libertadores Cup after defeating the Bolivar team of Bolivia 2-1, at the Capwell Stadium, in the final minutes of the game.
The team controlled the ball since the first minutes of the match, but that did not guarantee them power to move ahead on the scoreboard.
After some confusion in the local defense, Juan Callejon got rid of the electric defense and scored the 0-1 (min 10).
After a free kick carried out by Angel Mena, the score was tied 1-1 (min 12). The first half of the match ended with this points. During the second half, Emelec came out with more ambition and at the minute 73 Fernando Gimenez scored the 2-1 with pass of Gaibor with which he finished the game.
Emelec’s next match in the Libertadores Cup will be on February 26 against Brazil’s Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro.
