Emelec is the leader and favorite
Posted On 14 May 2013
Despite the drama, a tight marker and with nerves, Emelec won last night 2-1 to Deportivo Quevedo and secured three points in the Capwell Stadium, which enabled it to rise at the top of the standings with 35 points, four more than Deportivo Quito.
The Blue team did not have a good game and their skills were off, apparently due to the other national championship games and the Copa Libertadores, in which they are already out.
Both Fernando Gimenez in the 20th minute and Marlon de Jesus, with a penalty at 50th, scored for Emelec. The transient tie of the visit game was done by Jorge Ladines at the 42th minute. The game closed the sixteenth national championship, which was played before nearly 15,000 spectators.
