Environmentalists ask to be allowed to enter the Yasuní
Posted On 13 Mar 2015
Yesterday, the collective Yasunidos asked the Ministry of Environment to be allowed to go to the oil blocks 31 and 43, located in the Yasuni National Park. They indicate that the objective would be to check the levels of deforestation and expansion of built roads.
The group explains that the called ecological trails that have been opened are actually roads of between 25 and 30 meters. Another concern they have is whether the construction of wells Apaika and Nenke will be done by air so the rest of the area is not affected.
The ministry said it would reply in eight days to Yasunidos on this subject.
