Explosives and Dummies found on Libya boat
Posted On 16 May 2011
NATO warships discovered a small boat of the Libyan port of Misrata that contained explosives and mannequins. NATO experts believe this is plan of the forces of Muammar al Gaddafi to lure ships and destroy them.
Several officers informed that the people handling the boat abandoned it when NATO forces approached. After discovering the subterfuge the ship was destroyed by gunfire. The explosion could be seen 12 nautical miles away.
Last month the forces loyal to Gaddafi laid mines in the vicinity of the Misrata port. Twenty NATO ships patrol the central Mediterranean Sea to enforce a Unite Nations arms embargo on Libya.
