Fausto Guido Valdiviezo Moscoso, a journalist of Guayaquil was killed with three shots by an alleged hitman who ambushed him when the reporter left the house of his mother, in the citadel La Atarazana north of the city, at 21:30, while he was on board of his car a Mitsubishi Galant, plate GKZ 594.
According to reports, a hooded man approached him and shot him, apparently the assassin made sure that Valdiviezo was dead, then fled in a white vehicle. The journaslist received a hit in the chest and in the side of the torso, informed the nurse who attended him in the emergency area of the Territorial Military Hospital, where he was taken after being wounded in La Atarazana. His death occurred around 22:30. The nurse said Valdiviezo arrived without vital signs and paramedics were unable to revive him.
Police officers reported that they believed to be an attack of assassins, since there are no signs of robbery, adding that the murderer of the journalist was with two other men, who mobilized in a white Chevrolet Aveo car, the officers said they’ll share information they have on the vehicle in the next few hours. They added that according to witness reports, the alleged murderer showed his face and described the perpetrator as handsome and well dressed.
Last Wednesday Valdiviezo had been shot at while leaving suburb Ciudad Celeste in Samborondon, but the event was corroborated only by residents of the place, as police said, not official report was formally made.
Valdiviezo had a long career in Ecuadorian television and was next to reappear with a new program in the network of Teleamazonas.
