Felipe Caicedo: “Economics is not primary, I listen to my heart”
The striker Felipe Salvador Caicedo Corozo from Guayaquil, 28, spoke with Expreso Diary about his return to Ecuador´s soccer team, after 285 days of absence; about his new role as father and the confrontation against the always difficult Brazil. The Ecuadorian, for now, does not wish to move from Espanyol, his current club, despite the different offers he has received from the different countries of Europe.
Caicedo expressed his joy at playing with his Selection “I’m motivated to keep scoring goals”
-Do we have the most mature Caicedo of his career?
Yes, experience always brings maturity, I´m about to be 28 years old, I have matured in many ways, but life is a daily learning. But with the faith in God it becomes more bearable at all.
-What do you have to think to reject offers that involve more money?
In life, I´m always guided by what my heart dictates, and it has not gone wrong until now. The economic issue is secondary, even tertiary, there are other things that are above it.
-More than a decade out of the country, do you went to stay for a long period?
I´ve formed my family in Europe, different customs, and although Ecuador is always in my heart, there are many years away .
